Frequently Asked Questions

What is provided?

Everything you need for saltwater fishing. Rod, reels, bait, tackle, ice, and fishing license.

Can I have more than 6 people?

No, the max we can take is 6 passengers, whether they are fishing or not. This is not our rule, it is how the U.S. Coast Guard licenses private charters. Most private charters operate under this type of licensing. If you have more than 6 people, you can charter more than one boat. If you have a large group please do not let this deter you. We will work with other trusted captains to accommodate your needs.

What kind of fishing do you do?

If there is a species you would like to target just let us.

How many fish can I keep to take home?

You may keep fish that are legal according to local and federal regulations. Our captains will be able to provide you with the information of each species size and bag limits. We do ask that you only keep what you are going

When and where do we meet?

We offer several pick up locations through out the Charleston area. This locations vary based on the areas we are fishing during that time of year and we will be happy to discuss options. As for when, this can be anytime the best suites your needs but if you do not have any time constraints it is best to let the captain decide on the time. Your Captain will choose the time  that best matches the tide and habits of the target species during your trip based their intimate knowledge.

What if I get seasick?

We suggest that you take a motion sickness medicine (we suggest Dramamine) with your evening meal the night before and with a light breakfast the morning of the trip to avert seasickness. But, there are some individuals who will still get seasick even doing so. In the event your seasickness is intolerable, we will cut the trip short and return to dock. The captain will let you make the call.

 What experience level is necessary?

We welcome everyone from the novice to the expert. Do not worry if you are not experienced. That’s what we are here for!!!

Can we bring alcohol?

Yes. If you choose to drink we ask that you please be responsible. All alcohol must come in plastic or aluminum. No Glass. For the safety of everyone onboard the captain reserves the right to terminate a charter and return to the dock if a passenger becomes disorderly.

Can I bring my own fishing gear?

Yes you may but we prefer to have you to use our gear. We have taken the time to select and rig our gear to the specific type of fishing we are doing and to maximize success. Please let your captain know ahead of time if you plan on bringing any of your own fishing equipment so that everyone can be best prepared for the trip.

What do I wear during the trip?

Just like any outdoor adventure, you dress for the weather.
